Museum passes are made possible by a generous donation from The Friends of the U.S.R. Library.
Museum passes can be reserved online through Museum Key. Some passes can be printed out at home, and others must be picked up at the library. All passes are free for USR Library cardholders, with the exception of the American Museum of Natural History which is $5 per pass. Feel free to call the library at 201-327-2583 with any questions.
The Museum Pass program provides patrons the opportunity to visit a variety of attractions and enjoy the wonderful arts, culture and education that our area has to offer. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Upper Saddle River Library.

The Upper Saddle River Library Museum Pass Policy and Lending Guidelines
The Library is pleased to present our Museum Pass Program. Adult (18 years +) Upper Saddle River Public Library cardholders in good standing may borrow museum passes for up to two nights/three days. All pass reservations are processed via our Museum Key. Or patrons can contact the librarian on duty to reserve passes. It is the patron’s responsibility to check individual museums to verify their days/hours of operation.
Reservations
- Patrons may reserve passes up to 60 days in advance through the Museum Key or by requesting a reservation from the librarian on duty in person or by phone.
- Patron’s failure to pick up a pass at the reserved time will result in a canceled reservation and the pass being given to a patron on the waiting list.
- If a patrons reserves a museum pass and does not pick it up, after two such no-shows, the patron will be barred from borrowing any museum passes for a period of six months.
- Vouchers for entry to the American Museum of Natural History are limited to two vouchers per household per 12 month period.
Check-out
- The patron who has reserved the museum pass must complete a Museum Pass Lending Form before picking up the museum pass from the librarian on duty.
- Passes are available for a three-day/two-night loan period and are not renewable.
- Only one pass may be checked out at a time per household.
- The library reserves the right to limit the number of museum pass checkouts per household per year.
Returns
- Passes must be returned during normal business hours of the USR Library to the librarian on duty or the head of circulation. Passes may not be returned to another library nor deposited in the book drop when the library is closed.
- Passes must be returned in the same condition that they are received. Fees
- Museum passes are subject to library fines are $25 per day. After 7 days, patrons must pay the full replacement cost of the pass.
- If a pass is lost or damaged beyond repair, patrons must pay the full replacement cost of the pass.
