Great for developing readers. Visit BCCLS for available titles.
Read-alongs tell stories through pictures, words, and sounds. This format reaches children with a variety of learning styles and helps kids make the connection that the words on the page tell the story.
Caregivers can select and load up to 10 titles at a time. You may need to assist children with opening the book and beginning the narration. Once the story begins to play the words on the screen will be highlighted as they are read and the pages will automatically turn. You may wish to encourage the child to follow along with their finger. The narrator’s speech can be slowed which can be helpful for younger children. Read-alongs allow children to follow their interests, be independent readers, and learn new vocabulary words.
